New IIT JEE pattern and its impact
The JEE Advisory Board made changes in the IIT JEE pattern in 2006. These changes were made due to the following problems with the old pattern:
The 2nd stage examination (Mains) was of much higher difficulty level than Class XI/XII
This required students to prepare for school and ‘IIT JEE coaching’, separately.
Students could not cope up with the dual pressure of school’ and ‘IIT JEE preparation’
Some students neglected their Class XI/XII studies in trying to keep up their preparation for IITJEE. This caused irreparable damage to their careers.
Most students started dropping an year or more after Class XII to prepare for IIT JEE. Over 70% in 2005, who cracked IITJEE had dropped an year or more.
This led to emergence of destinations like Kota. Here students did rote learning, continuously for log hours to crack IIT JEE.
IITs were not happy with the profile of the students who were joining them since the kota phenomenon started. The students from Kota were not very keen on learning. They were burnt out and exhausted under the Kota system. They were not faring very well in IITs.
Kota system also undermines the importance and utility of the school system. In Kota, students who join in Class XI/XII don’t go to schools. They get proxy attendance.
In IITJEE 2006, JAB made the changes in the pattern to deal with these problems. These changes have made a tremendous impact on the admission patterns. Now, almost 70% of the students who get through, are 1st timers. In the new pattern, it is advisable to prepare along with Class XI & XII.
Students cant afford to neglect school studies or drop an year.
Only genuinely good students, who have a flair for PCM get through IIT JEE

These efforts were extremely successful.
1. The number of people going to Kota has reduced dramatically.
2. Coaching institutes had to change the entire course and methodology to suit the new pattern.
3. They started offering tuition for school along with IIT JEE coaching.
4. Most students now prepare along with Class XI – XII

Nice Post. Useful information for iit jee students.
Very useful post for iit jee students.
This problem was highly prevalent in those students who had studies under the state board system. CBSE students are able to cope with the entrance much better.
A very useful post for students like us…
But..
Nowadays, even after the given changes, kota system has become an integral part for jee contenders like us…
Moreover, its for sure that what we can learn in schools, can never be taught in coachings ( bansal, reasonance, allen, etc. )
It really seems that kota has become a supermarket for studies…..:-)
III just decreasing their level.now all the fatoo in IIT who only know how to crame. student who wish to study higher level now they can’t study.now we have to attend all classes in schools.
if a student wil get 70% in xii or something is their can u help me by giving info. to my account or by caling me plz help me bcoz its for my career m in xi now so plz guide me

new pattern for IIT will DEGRADE the educational system and new generation will lost the thinking ability of depth of the subject……
Will this mean that AIEEE will not be there? Is it something like a common exam instead of a separate AIEEE and an ITTJEE? Please reply if somebody knows! Thanks!
its not so like that…all over india exams will be held nd according to rank our colleges will be divided…under 15000 iit colleges nd aftr AIEEE..
will aptitude be also there from next year??
pls reply
changing the system, means the changing of books ,means books of higher level, then everyone will concentrate fully on it ,might be understanding the things deeply or crimming the things,,,, so a possibility of both means i.e. gain or loss
for urvashi, yes ofcourse it will be there & a lot difficult
but what about the students who cannot afford for two year coachings
i m studying in class 12and i ll be giving my boards in march 2012. i m planning to drop a year for iit. shall i proceed with the dropping?(considering the new system)..
pls reply
i m currntly studng in class 12 nd plaanig to drop one year for iitjee coaching.. ll i b eligible to gve the exam..???
this wil be helpful and loss for the students as board is easy but to prepare both board and iit would be little bid hard for students so best of luck
i m in 10 n will give boards in march 2012 and bec of the new pattern i should continue my studies till 12 in school or go to kota for iit now also??
plz reply fast..
i m studying in 11th std. nd want to go kota for jee preparation.so plz. frnds suggest me for my bright career

I am study class11 Please give information of new pattern of IITJEE
What is the new pattern for IIT-JEE 2012 ?
The pattern for IITJEE 2012 is similar to the pattern for the last 5 years. The details of the same are given in the article below.
http://www.questtutorials.com/blog/iit-jee-tips/new-iit-jee-pattern-and-its-impact/
The new pattern for IITJEE 2013 has not been declared yet. However, there is expected to be a substantial weightage on Class XII marks. This means that students with a higher percentage in board marks will have a substantial advantage over others. Those going to kota dn joining dummy schools will suffer. Class XI/XII performance becomes even more important. In the current format almost 60% of the time was needed to be spent doing Class XI/XII basics. Now it will go up to 75%.

So, my suggestion is that you avoid Kota and study in your own city. Finish Class XI/XII level material first during summer vacations. After that prepare for IITJEE with course material designed for the new pattern like ‘Power Coaching’ – http://www.questtutorials.com/study-material/
There has not been a declaration yet. We are all waiting.
You are doing the right thing by quitting Kota. It is not relevant anymore, even for the current pattern. Thats why the results from Kota have gone down. They dont do basics from NCERT etc. Kota was a destination for droppers. It has never worked well for those who attend school simultaneously. Now, if they introduce weightage of Class XII marks, Kota students will be at a huge disadvantage.GO home and finish your school level stuff that you have left incomplete.
Kota faculty end up misguiding.

In order to prepare for IITJEE, one had to prepare for boards anyway… the syllabus is the same… boards are the first step towards a successful preparation of IITJEE. So, in reality the changes in the pattern are very good.
Yeah. However, you should try to crack it this year itself.
Dropping is not a good idea. Try to crack it this year itself. If the proposed changes are introduced then the weightage of board marks will increase dramatically. if your board marks are very good, then you will have advantage. If your board marks are good, you can crack it this year also. So why wait?
Coaching is just a structure. It does not lead to success in competitions. To crack IITJEE, you need to study on your own, with or without coaching. Read the school textbook. Take a course material for the new pattern like ‘Power Coaching’, which costs Rs. 4500 only.
It is likely to be there but there is no official declaration yet.
IITJEE and AIEEE are likely to get merged.
I have tried very much to crack the iit-jee but this year It seems that I have made some simple mistakes so I am thinking to try for it once more.
But should I try once more year,,,,,
I am in this confusion because if the pattern changes then I l be facing a lot of problems thats why.
But the change is not in favour for the students from rural areas and the students mentally prepared to take drop after xii.
It is in favor of all the students. There is no need for coaching anymore. Students who prepare for Class XI/XII properly and a good course material can crack the test from their hometown.
No need to go to Kota, Delhi etc.
Wait for the results. Prepare for the rest of the exams with a calm mind. Decide on this after securing a seat in a good engg. college. IITs are not the end of the world. They are just a means to a good life. It is good to be an IITian but their are enough guys who didnt make it through the IITs but ended up doing much better than any IITian.
hello friends………

what is the new pattern of iit jee of 2013 this is the right to join coaching in kota niether prepare iit jee exam along with10th and 12th which is the best give reply fast
so good to see kota publicity going down…… i wont regret now for not taking admission there
now due to this new system not only kota but other coaching institutes are losing their popularity. its gud to see this
new system will be suicidal for students. students will be crushed between three examinations……..coaching will be costly……..as it will also provide coaching for 12th class……….
