On the first day of offline counselling, 122 successful candidates of the reserved category locked their choice of the particular branch and the IIT.
The counselling session which began in the morning continued till 5pm. The counselling for the students of the reserved category was conducted at the main auditorium of the IIT-K where the entire JEE staff and its officials were present.
Though the counselling session was conducted to verify the reserved category certificate of the students, they were given a chance to fill in their choice for a particular branch and the IIT. Most students who came here for counselling wanted to opt for IIT-Kanpur as their first choice. The final results of the counselling will be declared by the IITs on June 28’10.
One JEE office staff told TOI that 122 students reached IIT-K campus to take part in the counselling session. The successful candidates between the 1st rank and 1,000th rank were invited for counselling.
