(a)       In how many ways can this be done if at least five women have to be included in the committee ?

(b)       In how many of these committees  (i)  the women are in majority ?  (ii)  the men are in majority  ?

• This can be done in the following ways:
1. 5 women and 7 men = (9C5)*(8C7)
2. 6 women and 6 men = (9C6)*(8C6)
3. 7 W and 5 M = (9C7)*(8C5)
4. 8 W and 4 M = (9C8)*(8C4) and finally
5. 9 W and 3 M = 1* (8C3)

from the above we see that in three committees ( 3,4,5 ) women are in majority
